Our independent dental practice in Saanich offers expert restorative and preventative dentistry. We provide you with the right amount of dental treatment and will not upsell you on treatments you don’t need. We use the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA)’s annual suggested fee guide for all our services. This is important, because when your insurance says “80% is covered”, they mean 80% of the BCDA suggested fee.
We pride ourselves on our calming environment where each patient gets our full attention and treatments are never rushed. We take your comfort seriously: while we can’t promise pain-free treatments, our goal is for you to experience as little discomfort as possible. Our bright, brand-new clinic opened in October 2022. We carefully designed it for spaciousness, comfort, and accessibility. We’ve installed state-of-the-art equipment throughout, from the digital imaging technology to the entertainment system to the tools we use to clean and polish your teeth.
A VirusKiller™ anti-viral air filtration unit helps purify the air, and we observe stringent infection control and sterilization protocols throughout the clinic.

Dr. Matthew Foulkes, BSc. Hon., DDS
Dr. Matthew Foulkes was born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia. Before graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Western Ontario in 2010, he completed an honours Bachelor of Sciences in Animal Biology from UBC in 2005. While attending UBC, Dr. Foulkes volunteered at several biology and educational programs in the Lower Mainland.
After completing the dental program, Dr. Foulkes returned to his roots in BC where he started practicing in Coquitlam. For six years he worked in a diverse community of patients, which prepared him to manage a wide variety of dental concerns and cases.
In 2016, Dr. Foulkes and his wife, a registered dental hygienist, made Vancouver Island their home and settled comfortably in Greater Victoria with their two children. They enjoy hiking, beachcombing, swimming and traveling as a family. Their expeditions include Hawaii and Saturna Island, both of which are special in their family, as Dr. Foulkes spent much of his childhood in both places. They are proud to be a part of the Greater Victoria community and are thankful for the support and friendship they have found here.
Dr. Foulkes is dedicated to continually improving our family dental practice in Saanich through lifelong education, as dentistry is always evolving. He is currently a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the British Columbia Dental Association, and the Victoria and District Dental Society. He is committed to providing all our current and new patients a relaxed environment with calm and quality care.
